Devil scorpionfish or false stonefish
Scorpaenopsis diabolus. The spines carry a very powerful toxin, extremely painful but, fortunately, rarely fatal to humans. The fish is a master of camouflage and many a scuba diver has suffered a sudden and painful end to what seemed like a routine dive!
